Meet Morgan
Morgan (she/her) believes that everyone is inherently good and deserving of safe, authentic connection. Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, and feminist approaches. She offers a warm and relational approach to therapy that incorporates elements of self-compassion and self-expression in all of her work. Having grown up in environments that did not encourage safe connections to the body, Morgan is passionate about helping her clients find creative and embodied ways to share their stories. She believes that when we take time to slow down and let the body speak, deeper healing and integration can unfold.
Morgan has a variety of experiences with individuals who describe themselves as “high-performing”, “perfectionists”, or “people pleasers”. Many of the individuals she works with find it difficult to be comfortable in their own skin. This includes but is not limited to struggling to say no, constantly feeling overwhelmed, always on edge or numb, or even feeling unsure about how they feel. They may have tried to fix and control themselves or their body for years and as a result feel exhausted. Many of the clients she works with worry that if they are truly themselves that others will leave or pull away.
Her hope is that through therapy, it can be a safe space for you to finally allow yourself to be, even just for a moment.
Her specific areas of interest include:
-
stress and burnout
-
purity culture and religious trauma
-
disordered eating and movement
-
body image, body dissatisfaction, and body liberation
Types of practice she includes:
-
Relational and Feminist approaches
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
-
Somatic and expressive therapy modalities (including sandtray and art)
-
Self-compassion
When Morgan isn’t with clients or studying purity culture and embodiment, she enjoys playing the piano, sipping a flat white at a cozy coffee shop, or training for her next marathon.
She is currently accepting new clients for virtual or in-person sessions for adults, parents, or youth in Fort Langley.
